Milestones

Assignment 1: Was to learn the basics and fundamentals of Grasshopper. This is something I really took the simpler side of to understand more of the key components that were being used in the GH algorithms.

Assignment 2: This was an animation project exercising the components of using an algorithm to flow and rotate an object in Rhino using GH plugin and creating an animated gif from this.

Assignment 3: Stacked Slices Model was to use an algorithm to create a laser cut object from stacked slices. I think what was most important for me in this project was that ultimately in the manufacturing of this model I failed to have the pillars coordinate in the slices. Then I had a major print failure as well when printing the base, middle and top of this project. It was inspired by playing jumanji with my kids and the hourglass challenges within it. Also the use of an hourglass in timed moves within chess which I have taught to my 10 year old and 7 year old. My 5 year old is just beginning to learn how to play it. I will add images once they are all completed.
But here is what I have now....

Assignment 4:

Assignment 5: For this project the idea was to create a positive and negative design that will be cut in a CNC routing machine. I chose to utilize a raptor claw for a couple of different reasons: a) Raptors and Falcons have been long known by me to be one of my spirit animals or power or totemic animals as I learned in shamanic workshops, b) very few dinosaurs are as cool or popular as the velociraptor, c) I love the idea of turning the casts taken from this mould into pendants that can be strung through a necklace. Minimalist, modern and a lil kitschy. This has me written all over it! I will add more photos once the mould has been CNC'd today in the wood shop!
